ABOUT US

Specialized expertise for complex façades, from tender to execution

With decades of international experience, Mike Hartman and Thomas Krause offer a rare combination of technical precision and strategic oversight. They’ve worked on some of the world’s most complex façade systems—spanning custom steel and glass structures, unitized curtain walls, and proprietary glazing solutions.

Their strength lies in translating architectural vision into executable scopes, aligning tender packages with real-world fabrication constraints, and minimizing risk across all phases of procurement. Together, they bring clarity, structure, and trusted judgment to high-stakes projects.

Mike Hartman

Founding Partner
Technical Strategy & Tender Oversight

Mike Hartman has worked in the façade and curtain wall industry for over 25 years, managing complex scope definition, system coordination, and fabrication oversight for high-profile projects in North America and Latin America.

His project experience includes the LAX Airport Metro Connector, where he coordinated PMU and VMU testing, material procurement, and fabrication logistics; the Uber Headquarters in San Francisco, where he led shop drawing development and collaborated directly with international fabricators; and the Robert Day Sciences Center, where he was responsible for bid package coordination, design submittals, and supplier integration from early design through field mobilization.

Mike's role typically begins before tender release, defining scope divisions across trades and establishing the technical baseline for bid documentation. He supports value engineering decisions, cost alignment, and contractor clarifications throughout the tender phase. His ability to manage fabrication realities within the design process ensures that project scopes are executable and well-aligned with supplier capabilities.
He has worked with custom systems, Kawneer, and proprietary façade packages on institutional, commercial, and cultural projects, including the CalTech Chen Research Building, 150 Riverside in Chicago, and the Biomuseo in Panama City.

His coordination with architects, general contractors, and fabricators consistently focuses on clarity, buildability, and timely execution.

Thomas Krause

Founding Partner
Technical Strategy & Tender Oversight

Thomas Krause has more than 40 years of experience managing curtain wall and façade contracts in Europe, the U.S., and Latin America. His work ranges from detailed execution planning to procurement strategy and long-lead material coordination for large-scale architectural projects.

He has held senior leadership positions at Kovach, Island, and Novum Structures, and was a member of the executive board at Schmidlin AG. His project portfolio includes the Swiss Re headquarters in London, Lakhta Center in Saint Petersburg, and the MGM City Center in Las Vegas—all involving complex façade systems with custom steel and glass components exceeding 30,000 m².

Thomas typically supports clients in the early stages of contract planning, vendor selection, and technical coordination. He developed the tendering and execution protocols used in UNI Tender's U.S. operations, first implemented during his leadership of the LAX Airport Metro Connector façade package. His involvement includes contract review, bid alignment, and the definition of fabrication and installation timelines based on real-world production and logistics conditions.

He has worked extensively with unitized curtain wall, double-skin façades, and complex geometries, often leading the integration of supplier input into tender documents and shop drawings. His approach is structured, methodical, and focused on delivering technically sound, contractually aligned scopes that can be executed without delay.
